On August 10th, 2022, our systems received a long awaited update to help our members secure their accounts . This update was announced earlier this year in letters that were included in statements as well as handed out in our office. As a result of this update, new debit cards which include more secure features to protect against fraudulent activity were issued and shipped to customers in June and July. As we proceed forward, we will continue to help our customers adjust to this new program. Coming soon (August 2022), all Cowboy Country FCU debit and ATM cards will be upgraded to a new servicing platform.
What does this means for you:
You will be receiving a new Visa debit card or ATM card with a new card number, expiration date, PIN and security code.
The new Visa debit cards will be an EMV chip card for added safety and security.(BULLET ONLY NEEDED IF CARDS ARE NOT ALREADY EMV.)
The new Visa debit card will include the contactless feature for added security and ease of use at participating merchants/stores where you see the contactless indicator.
Activate your new debit card as soon as you receive it and destroy the old card by cutting it into several pieces or putting it through a shedder. Your old card will no longer work as of 8/10/22
You will assign your own unique PIN number at the time you activate your new card. Please ensure you activate your card and set the new PIN during the same phone call. Your PIN not carry over from the old card.
If you have any pre-authorized or recurring payments on your debit card, such as your gym membership or house utilities, you will need to notify those merchants/billers of your new card information.
